สถาบัน Global Poker Index (GPI) ประกาศผลการจัดอันดับนักกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ประจำปี 2568 อย่างเป็นทางการ เมื่อช่วงบ่ายวันที่ 7 มกราคม 2569 (ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นสหรัฐอเมริกา) โดย “โปรปุณณัตถ์ ปุณศรี” นักกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ชาวไทย สร้างประวัติศาสตร์ขึ้นครองตำแหน่งนักแข่งโป๊กเกอร์อันดับ 1 ของโลก จากคะแนนสะสมตลอดฤดูกาล 2568 เฉือนชนะ Jesse Lonis โปรดังชาวอเมริกันในช่วงโค้งสุดท้ายของปี

นับเป็นนักกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ชาวไทยและชาวเอเชียคนแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ ที่สามารถกวาดตำแหน่งอันดับ 1 ครบทั้ง 4 ประเภทในปีเดียว สะท้อนถึงความสม่ำเสมอ ฟอร์มการเล่นระดับสูง และความสามารถรอบด้านตลอดฤดูกาลแข่งขัน
ล่าสุด โปรปุณณัตถ์ พร้อมด้วยนายธนา จุลพรรณศักดิ์ นายกสมาคมกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ไทย และคณะผู้บริหารสมาคมฯ เข้าพบนายก้องศักด ยอดมณี ผู้ว่าการการกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย (กกท.) เพื่อรายงานผลการแข่งขันและแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ โดยยืนยันเจตนารมณ์ในการนำองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ระดับโลก มาผลักดันกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ให้เป็นกีฬาสำหรับคนรุ่นใหม่ และสร้างนักกีฬาไทยสู่ระดับอาชีพและเวทีโลกในอนาคต ขณะที่ผู้ว่าการ กกท. ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีและให้กำลังใจอย่างอบอุ่น
โปรปุณณัตถ์เปิดเผยถึงเป้าหมายในปีต่อไป ว่าต้องการเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันทัวร์นาเมนต์ระดับสูงอย่างต่อเนื่อง พร้อมผลักดันนักกีฬาไทยให้มีโอกาสลงแข่งขันและเข้าถึงโต๊ะสุดท้ายในรายการระดับโลกให้มากขึ้น รวมถึงอยากเห็นการสนับสนุนกีฬาโป๊กเกอร์ทั้งจากภาคเอกชนและภาครัฐ เนื่องจากโป๊กเกอร์เป็นกีฬาที่ช่วยพัฒนาทักษะการคิด วิเคราะห์สถิติ จิตวิทยา และการตัดสินใจ ซึ่งเหมาะกับคนทุกเพศทุกวัย และหากสามารถดำเนินการอย่างถูกกฎหมาย จะช่วยส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวและเศรษฐกิจของประเทศได้ในระยะยาว
สำหรับผลงานตลอดปี 2568 โปรปุณณัตถ์ทำเงินรางวัลรวมสูงถึง 10,951,494 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 343 ล้านบาท จากการแข่งขันใน 14 ประเทศทั่วโลก ผ่านเข้าสู่รอบรับเงินรางวัล (In The Money) ถึง 61 ครั้ง และคว้าแชมป์ 7 รายการ ครอบคลุมเกม No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha และ Mixed Game แสดงให้เห็นถึงความสามารถในการปรับตัวและความเชี่ยวชาญในทุกรูปแบบเกม

Pro Punnat Punsri Rises to World No. 1, Sweeps 4 Major GPI Awards, Making History for Thai and Asian Poker
The Global Poker Index (GPI) officially announced its 2025 annual poker player rankings on the afternoon of January 7, 2026 (U.S. local time). “Pro Punnat Punsri,” a Thai professional poker player, made history by claiming the No. 1 position in the world, based on cumulative points throughout the 2025 season, narrowly edging out American star Jesse Lonis in the final stretch of the year.
This achievement is unprecedented, as Pro Punnat simultaneously captured the top spot in all four major GPI ranking categories:
1. GPI Ranking Awards
2. GPI Player of the Year
3. GPI Asia Ranking Awards
4. GPI Asia Player of the Year
He is the first Thai and Asian poker player in history to secure all four No. 1 titles in a single year, reflecting remarkable consistency, elite-level performance, and all-around excellence throughout the season.
Recently, Pro Punnat, together with Mr. Thana Julpansak , President of the Thailand Poker Sports Association, and the association’s executive team, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). The delegation reported on international competition results and exchanged experiences, reaffirming their commitment to bringing world-class knowledge and expertise back to Thailand to develop poker as a sport for the new generation and to nurture Thai players toward professional and global stages. The SAT Governor expressed his congratulations and warm encouragement.
Pro Punnat shared his goals for the coming year, stating his intention to continue competing in top-tier international tournaments while helping create more opportunities for Thai players to participate and reach final tables at the world’s biggest events. He also emphasized the need for greater support from both the private and public sectors, noting that poker is a sport that develops critical thinking, statistical analysis, psychology, and decision-making skills, making it suitable for people of all ages and genders. If properly regulated, poker could also contribute to tourism and long-term economic growth.
Throughout the 2025 season, Pro Punnat earned total prize money of USD 10,951,494 (over 343 million baht), competing in 14 countries worldwide. He cashed 61 times and won 7 titles across No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Mixed Games, demonstrating exceptional adaptability and mastery across multiple formats.
